The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka’s (NCCSL) Annual Report for the year 2010/11, was awarded the Silver award in the Non-Profit category at the Vision Awards, organized by the League of American Communication Professionals (LACP). The competition is the world’s most renowned annual report competition and attracts submissions from organizations from across the world.

“Our 2010/11 Annual Report is aptly based on our role as the voice of Sri Lankan business.

It communicates to our stakeholders, the importance of the remit bestowed on our organization in stimulating, promoting, representing and protecting the interests of Sri Lanka’s many businesses,” said Asoka Hettigoda, President NCCSL, after receiving the award. Dr. Vijith Kannangara, Chairman – Smart Media, said, “‘It is imperative that Sri Lankan organizations look at their annual reports as vital communication tools between themselves and their stakeholders.

In this regard, we are proud to be highlighting the annual report of an umbrella organization as vital as the NCCSL at such a forum.”

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka(NCCSL), was founded in 1948. The NCCSL is the focal point for member companies representing virtually the entire spectrum of industry, trade and commerce in Sri Lanka, including some of the most vibrant and progressive business houses in the country. This is the first ever occasion where NCCSL had produced an Annual Report in complying with international standards and winning a Silver Award confirming NCCSL’s vision to be one of the world’s best Chambers.

The LACP was established in 2001 in the USA, to create a forum that discusses best-in-class practices, while recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communication capabilities.

The Vision Awards process of the LACP recognizes and rewards outstanding annual reporting from across the globe. The LACP Vision Awards 2012, attracted over 5,500 entries from more than 25 countries.
