NCCSL wins Silver at LACP Vision Awards 2012

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka’s (NCCSL) Annual Report
for the year 2010/11, was awarded the Silver award in the Non-Profit
category at the Vision Awards, organized by the League of American
Communication Professionals (LACP). The competition is the world’s most
renowned annual report competition and attracts submissions from
organizations from across the world.
“Our 2010/11 Annual Report is aptly based on our role as the voice of
Sri Lankan business.
It communicates to our stakeholders, the importance of the remit
bestowed on our organization in stimulating, promoting, representing and
protecting the interests of Sri Lanka’s many businesses,” said Asoka
Hettigoda, President NCCSL, after receiving the award. Dr. Vijith
Kannangara, Chairman – Smart Media, said, “‘It is imperative that Sri
Lankan organizations look at their annual reports as vital communication
tools between themselves and their stakeholders.
In this regard, we are proud to be highlighting the annual report of
an umbrella organization as vital as the NCCSL at such a forum.”
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka(NCCSL), was founded in
1948. The NCCSL is the focal point for member companies representing
virtually the entire spectrum of industry, trade and commerce in Sri
Lanka, including some of the most vibrant and progressive business
houses in the country. This is the first ever occasion where NCCSL had
produced an Annual Report in complying with international standards and
winning a Silver Award confirming NCCSL’s vision to be one of the
world’s best Chambers.
The LACP was established in 2001 in the USA, to create a forum that
discusses best-in-class practices, while recognizing those who
demonstrate exemplary communication capabilities.
The Vision Awards process of the LACP recognizes and rewards
outstanding annual reporting from across the globe. The LACP Vision
Awards 2012, attracted over 5,500 entries from more than 25 countries.
