The Pership Group is a company that has been in business for over 100
years and currently employs over 1200 staff and has offices in Sri
Lanka, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and most recently New York and
Chicago. Pership's primary vertical of choice is transportation and
logistics in its many forms and variants.
During its 120 years evolution, the need for bundled solutions became
more and more apparent with customers being more discerning and
demanding due to the high competitiveness of the markets they are in.
Pership being highly proactive, recognized this need and set up
subsidiaries whose primary aim was to compliment and add value to the
core business with the intention of providing bundled/value added
services to its ever demanding and expanding customer base.
AAL Freeport was formed in the year of 1982, as the Pership Groups
container terminal management and transportation arm catering to the
operational needs and increasing demands of the international shipping
lines the group represents.
In order to meet the needs and changing customer trends for quick
response and dispatch, AAL Freeport is situated on a five acre block of
land with storage capacity of 5000 twenty equivalent units and is
ideally located 7km from the port, flanked on either side by the
industrial and manufacturing hub and has its own stack enabling ECT to
have the containers ready and waiting for fast dispatch.
Freeport Logistics has been involved with many projects, in both
consultative roles as well as operational roles, since its creation.
Freeport has not only been involved with local companies, but also multi
nationals which gives credit to its strong capabilities in the arena of
supply chain solutions. |
