Brunei’s Commander of the Royal Land Forces calls on Army Commander
To attend Defence Seminar which begins today:
Brunei’s Commander of the Royal Land Forces Brigadier-General
Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Rahman who arrived
in Sri Lanka to attend the ‘Defence Seminar on 5Rs’ which is to
be inaugurated in Colombo today paid a courtesy call on Army
Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya at Army Headquarters.

Brigadier-General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Rahman,
Brunei’s Commander of the Royal Land Forces was one of the first guests
to arrive in Sri Lanka to attend ‘Defence Seminar on 5Rs’ which is
scheduled to be inaugurated at Colombo Galadari Hotel today .
The Commander paid a courtesy call on Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath
Jayasuriya at Army Headquarters. Yesterday.
Brunei’s Brigadier-General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji
Abd Rahman on arrival at the Army Headquarters premises was received by
Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Centre Commandant Colonel Indunil Silva.
A Guard of Honour presented by troops of the SLAC greeted the
visiting Royal Land Forces Commander of Brunei in accordance with
military formalities before he was ushered to the Commander’s
Secretariat.
During their discussions, both military leaders exchanged views on
matters of bilateral importance and relevance with special focus on
training modules and future cooperation.
Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jayasuriya explained current roles and tasks
of the Army to the visiting Royal Land Forces Commander after giving him
a brief account on recent culmination of humanitarian operations and its
aftermath. The Commanders exchanged mamentoes.
During his stay in Sri Lanka the visiting Military Chief is scheduled
to call on the Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary and
visit several military institutes, including the Sapugaskanda Defence
Services Command and Staff College, Maduruoya Special Forces School and
other places of interest.
Under Brigadier-General Dato Yussof Abd Rahman’s leadership, the
depth and scope of bilateral interactions and cooperation among all
international military establishments have grown from strength to
strength.
