Solar power for Hambantota

Around 760 families in the Hambantota district will be provided solar power facility under the Grama Sakthi programme.

Power and Energy Minister Patalee Champika Ranawaka said there are 37,000 families in Sri Lanka without electricity. He said electricity will be provided for all citizens throughout the country before the end of 2012.

The ministry will launch the project with the help of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority.
