Priyantha - cricket coach of Ampara district

Priyantha Weragoda, the present Cricket Coach of Ampara District is a former player in the Sri Lanka Cricket Pool and he represented Kandy Cricket Club in the P Sara.Trophy Cricket match against Negombo when he took 5 wickets for no runs. In that particular match against Negombo CC as a left arm leg spinner, his figures were 11.5 overs, 11 maidens, no runs for 5 wickets. This feat may not be equal or surpassed.

Priyantha played for Kandy Cricket Club for P Sara Trophy Tournament in the years 1987, 1988, 1993, 1995 and 2000.

He played for Sri Lanka Navy team in the years 1989, 1990 and 1991 and played for Wattala Antonians in the years 1994, 1995 and 1996.
