Facelift for Ranmihitenna


Ranmihitenna Mahinda Rajapaksa Tele Cinema Park

The Media and Information Minister has taken measures to enhance physical resources and other facilities in the Ranmihitenna Mahinda Rajapaksa Tele Cinema Park at Tissamaharama in Hambantota, Presidential Coordinating Secretary attached to the tele cinema park Neil Weeratunga told the Daily News .

An international level tele cinema studio will be established for local and foreign filming and tele drama production under the programme. A silent tape recording centre and storing facilities will also be provided under the programme, he said.The development activities will commence this month. Rs 400 million will be spent for the purpose.The income obtained through taxes levied from international film and tele dramas will be utilized for this, he said

Enhancement of facilities for high quality filming and tele drama shows and attraction of more tourists for the tele cinema park would be the aims of the endeavour, Neil Weerathunga said.
