Fighting attorneys reach settlement

An Attorney-at-law who assaulted another Attorney-at-Law practising in the Colombo Magistrate's Courts (Traffic), yesterday apologised to the latter and settled the matter before the Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Rashmi Singappuli.

Attorney Chandra Jayasena told court that he was consulting with a client regarding a case in the Magistrate's Court No. 7 (Traffic) on the morning of June 6, at the same time Attorney Gamage who is also practising in the same court suddenly attacked him on the face and he hadfallen four steps down the stairs.

When Attorney Gamage apologised to Attorney Jayasena, Judge Rashmi Singappuli allowed them to settle the issue in open courts.

Court Officer SI KWJ Sisira conducted the investigations into the complaint made by Attorney Jayasena.
