G/20 OEI offers scholarship for soldiers’ child
The G/Twenty (G/20) Overseas Education Institute & Global College
Cyprus offered a scholarship to a child of a soldier who sacrificed his
life during the ethnic war. The student who gained the highest marks at
the Advanced Level Examination is to receive this award in the near
future.

The related documents and the cheque for the award was handed over to
the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by Chairman
G/20 Dinesh Chandana Perera at the 'Future Minds Exhibition' held
recently. The recipient will get the opportunity to travel to Cyprus and
study at the 'Global College of Nicosia' for a period of one year.
The G.20 Overseas Education Institute will spend a sum of rupees
600,000 for the scholarship which will be of immense value to the
recipient.
The chief guest at the awarding ceremony and the Future Minds
Exhibition was Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Others present on
the occasion were the Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, Colombo
District MP Thilanga Sumathipala, Sri Lanka's Concillor in Cyprus Mrs.
Premani Perera and chairman of the G/20 Overseas Education Institute
Dinesh Chandana Perera and a host of other distinguished invitees.
Chairman G/20 Overseas Education Institute said that his Institute hopes
to continue with this scholarships in the future too' He further added
that his Institute is fully geared to serve the students who intend to
study abroad by way of finding Universities, Travel and Visa related to
matters. |
