ACBC presents Commission report
The first English copy of the Special Commission report on 'Unethical
conversion of Sri Lankan Buddhists to other religions' launched by the
All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC) was presented by the ACBC President
Jagath Sumathipala to the World Buddhist Federation (WBF). The
presentation was made to WFB Vice President Arun Naamdi at the
Federation's 26th annual conference held from June 11 to 16 in Yeosu
City, Korea during the 2012 Yesou International Expo.
Child needs help
B.R.M. Thasmini Thihansa aged four years and seven months, of No. 440
Hospital Rd, Ranala Nawagamuwa is suffering from a severe heart ailment.
Heart Specialist Dr. Kanchana Singappully has directed that Thasmini
should undergo an operation. The operation would cost Rs. 380,000 and
her father, B.R.M.A.A. Bandara is unable to meet the cost. He requests

Sarvodaya national awards
Five Sri Lankans selected by a special jury appointed by the Board of
Trustees of the Sarvodaya Trust Fund will be felicitated at Sarvodaya's
17th national award ceremony to be held at the Vishva Samadhi Hall,
Sarvodaya Headquarters, Moratuwa on August 11.
Japanese ambassador Nobuhito Hobo will be the Chief Guest.
Those who will receive awards are Ven Rukmale Dhammakiththi Nayaka
Thera of Aturugiriya Sri Maha Viharaya, Prof Sumanapala Galmangoda of
Kelaniya University, Prof W S Karunatillaka of Kelaniya University,
Emeritus Prof K N O Dharmadasa of Peradeniya University and producer of
children's programmes and journalist Sumana Jayatilaka.
Each recipient will receive Rs 50,000, a citation and a commemorative
plaque.

Book launch
The book titled Achieving Economic Goals in the Midst of Global
