Lagodan (Private) Limited, was awarded with "Excellence Awards 2012"
by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. Lagodan headed by the
present Chairman and Managing Director L.A. Ranjith Nihal Perera stated
that out of over 950 registered Foreign Employment Agencies in Sri
Lanka, only 13 agencies were awarded with this prestigious award for
2012.
He said that Sri Lanka received US$ 5.2 billion last year by the
foreign migrant workers and foreign employment agents in Sri Lanka which
is a record and also stated that the foreign employment industry is the
No. 1 foreign exchange earner of the country.
Lagodan (Pvt) Ltd. has recruited 810 Sri Lankans for foreign
employment in 2011 and is trying hard to figure 2,000 or more during
this year.
Lagodan is working with companies like Qatar Petroleum and Qatar
Airways and its six subsidiary companies (both under the Government of
Qatar) in Qatar for more than eight years. In Saudi Arabia they are
working with Almarai Company where there are more than 20,000 employees
from all over the world including a large number of Sri Lankans working
in their dairy productions and the annual turnover of Almarai Company
for 2011 was over US$ 2 billion. Lagodan is providing Sri Lankans to
over 64 companies in the Middle East and about 32 are on going basis.
Apart from this award, Lagodan the most prestigious company in Sri
Lanka, has received numerous awards like the Bronze award for Marketing
Effort, Silver award for highest number of skilled employees to name a
few.
The most important aspect is that Lagodan do not charge a single cent
from the selected migrant worker which was a very good policy of the
company. |
