One of the most powerful personalities in the sports world, member of the Kuwaiti Royal family, Olympic Council of Asia President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Al-Sabah is the President of the Olympic Council
of Asia since 1991, member of International Olympic Committee since 1992 and is also the President of Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). He is a former Minister of Information and Oil in Kuwait and also the Kuwait Olympic Committee President, Afro Asian Games Council Chairman, International Handball Federation Vice President, Asian Handball Federation President and Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation Senior Vice President. Sri Lanka to host 2017 Asian Youth Games

Visiting Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA) President Prince Sheikh Ahmad al-Sabah said Sri Lanka’s emerging commercial hub Hambantota has been chosen to host the third Asian Youth Games in 2017. He made the announcement at a press briefing at the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee Auditorium last evening.

Zen and Raja share the lead

N. Thangaraja, Sri Lanka’s number one Amateur Golfer shot a one under par 70 to share the lead with Zen Dharmaratne after the third round of the June Pin Fernando Grand Prix worked off yesterday at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. Both Golfers are three under par after three rounds on 210.
