Nipuni WIMALAPALA
He has perfected himself as a singer and musician. He prefers music
other than anything.
Being a doctor who lived in England for a long time, he loves Sinhala
music very much. He has held many musical shows in England to please the
Sri Lankan ears in London.
Dr. Mahinda Tennakoon who is dedicated to music has organized a
musical show to felicitate well known musician late Sunil Shantha.
The show is titled, Guru Upahara which will be held on June 16 at
Sudarshi Hall, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 at 5 pm. It would be a
mesmerizing evening with music and dancing.
Visharada Mahinda Tennakoon will be the main artist of the day, who
will sing many hits of Sunil Shantha. There will also be dance items
arranged by Daya Jayatunga. Admission to the show is by invitation.
Visharada Tennakoon is a student of late Sunil Shantha who inherits a
very similar voice to his music teacher, Sunil Shantha. He has excelled
in music while being a doctor. Sri Lankans living in London are not much
into Sinhala music, since there are no Sinhala musical shows. In such a
time, he started singing in London and a large number of Sri Lankans
were attracted by his amazing voice. |
