Pet Corner
Rest in peace dear Wisky
Demi Hewamanna
He was my very first rescue story and he was the start of many more
that came. From the very day I met him I realized how much love he had
inside but had no way of showing to the world because of the treatment
he had been given before his life changed forever.
It was only just a few days that went by when my friend said that "Wisky"
is not well. And on June 13, she called me to say that he had passed
away peacefully in his sleep after years long suffering from cancer and
other ailments.
Most of you would know him from the article I wrote last year "A dog
named Wisky" and would remember the tortures he went through with the
people who had him. But his prayers were answered when Oshadie Korale
from Adopt a Dog in Sri Lanka went in time and rescued the poor guy from
his 'evil fosters'.
Its 10 months since he came to the lives of Piumie and Steven Pieres
and was welcomed warmly by their pets Patsy, Pinky, late Hudson, Buttons
and of course Remote. Speaking to them I realized that Wisky gave them a
wonderful 10 months of unforgettable good memories to keep him alive in
their hearts.
Dear Wisky boy, you are sure going to be missed by the ladies who
came after you were adopted - Blinky, Pepsi and Peggy together with Rex
as well. I miss you too and I am so glad that you are free from your
suffering and I pray you that you have reconnected with your first Mama
and enjoying mesmerizing the ladies. Piumie and Steven dearly miss you
too. You will never be forgotten. |
