Snooker champion Naresh felicitated

Naresh Samarawickrama of Galle CC who emerged champion at the second
AAC Snooker Championship 2012, was felicitated at a special function
held last Saturday at the Galle CC's Recreation Hall under patronage of
club's president Gajaba Pitigala.
Naresh won the coveted trophy after a lapse of ten years after
winning his last major title, National Snooker Championship in 2002.
At the final of the championship concluded on May 27 at AAC billiards
table he defeated Ryan Somarathne of Otters AC.
The promising young cueist, back in the motherland after a 10 year
service as an international snooker coach in Germany is anxiously
awaiting to compete in the National Snooker Championship this year.
Naresh while in Germany too has clinched two international titles;
Hamberge Snooker Championship and North German Snooker Championship.
He who is highly optimistic and much self-reliant on his skills and
talents is much ambitious to participate in some international Snooker
competitions representing the motherland and thereby bring honour to the
country. But this gifted and resolute youth who is yet not yet
permanently employed looking for a gracious sponsor to further his
training and in meeting the heavy expenses he has to bear in taking part
in international events. |
