Navy come out for the first time today

Sri Lanka Navy Rugby Football will begin their ‘A’ Division League
Tournament 2012 fixtures today at the Navy grounds in Welisara.
Sri Lanka rugby joined hands with Sri Lanka's premier mobile and
satellite TV provider Dialog Axiata last week. Dialog will be the title
sponsor for next five years for Club rugby league and national Rugby
team.
Airtel,Frontier Automotive (Pvt) Ltd and Kandy Selection are the
sponsors for Sri Lanka Navy Rugby team at this tournament and they are
to provide all facilities to the SL Navy Rugby team throughout the
tournament.
Addressing a press briefing held at the Welisara Navy camp,yesterday
SL Navy Rugby Team Captain Lieutenant Yoshitha Rajapaksa said that his
team is ready to face this tournament in a very successful manner. The
team which played for the Dialog Rugby League in the last year is to
play in this year without changes,he added. “We hope to play the first
few matches without special players and we hope to perform our best in
this tournament. We have to play the first match with the CH & FC on
Saturday at the Navy Grounds,Welisara.”,Lieutenant Yoshitha said.
Sri Lanka Navy Sports Board Director (Sports) and Rugby Football
Chairman, Commodore J.D.Amaranayake,Navy Rugby Football Secretary
Lieutenant A.W.R.C.Laxman,Frontier Automotive Director Shehan
Fernando,Kandy Selection Managing Director Ajith Ranasekara and Airtel
Chief Executive Officer Suren Gunawardena were also present at the press
briefing. |
