Sri Lanka will act as an active hub in the region with the completion
of the Hambantota seaport, said the SLPA Chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama.
He said so during the Hambantota seaport function that was held to
welcome the arrival of fifteen cars to the Hambantota seaport for the
first time.
Speaking further, he said that the opposition parties levelled
various unfounded allegations against the Hambantota seaport project.
These allegations have proved to be utterly baseless with the gradual
development of the seaport.
Bandu Wickrama said that with port related vehicle imports,
transhipment operations are being routed to the emerging southern part
of Hambantota.
He said that the first of the transhipment vehicle vessels are
scheduled to call at the Hambantota harbour soon. |
