President's leadership paved way to economic development

"Sir Lanka's economic position is strong due to the correct economic management and the strong leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa," said Senior Minister A H M Fowzie.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Divi Neguma Exhibition organised by the Economic Development Ministry and held at the Badulla Central College premises recently. Minister Fowzie addressing a gathering said, "The products of Sri Lanka have a great demand in the world. Our government helps all those who are engaged in economic development activities in the country. The Divi Neguma Exhibition helps industrialists to develop their industries and find a good market for their products.

Today anybody can obtain a Rs. 10,000 loan from the Bank over the counter to start a cottage industry.

The prevailing peaceful environment has paved the way for rapid economic development in our country." G.N. Gunasekera, Mayor, Badulla, Ajith Hikkaduwa Liyanage, Manel Ratnayake, Nimal Ratnayake, Provincial Councillors, Rohana Keerthi Dissanayaka, the GA, Badulla M H de Silva, AGA Badulla, public servants and a large number of well wishers participated at the exhibition.
