Enjoining order on two UNP Working Committee members

Colombo district court judge Dhammika Ganepola yesterday issued an enjoining order on two members of the UNP Working Committee restraining them from holding a disciplinary inquiry on June 11 at Sirikotha against UNP (WP) member Siri Kamal de Silva over an allegation concerning MP John Amaratunga.

The respondents cited are UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, deputy leader Sajith Premadasa along with seven members of the Working Committee and two members of the Disciplinary Committee.

Attorney at law Kisath Wijegunawardana appearing for the plaintiff submitted that according to the UNP constitution, the proposed disciplinary inquiry should be held by a Disciplinary Board appointed by the Disciplinary Committee.
