Bodies of male and female found in field

The Ayiththamale Police, acting on a tip off, found two bodies of a man and a woman under a mango tree in a field near the Mullamulana bridge on Wednesday morning.

The Police also found a motorcycle, two helmets, two empty vials which had contained a poisonous substance, a can of beer, two NICs, two mobile phones and a wallet containing money and also a suicide note signed by the two persons. The bodies were identified as that of Alagaratnam Ilango, 34, of 38th Colony, Kaludaweli, Kaluwanchikudi and Alagathurai Mekala 22, of 158, Thikkadai.

The bodies are lying at the Chenkalady hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy.

Ayiththamale police is investigating.
