Korean language training for teachers

The National Institute of Education, will provide Korean language
training to schoool teachers in government schools as the objecctive of
introducing the Korean language into the school curriculam. According to
Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, the Korean Ambassador in Sri
Lanka, has agreed to provide Korean teachers for this teacher training
programme.
He said that Korean government provides a large number of job
opportunities for Sri Lankans. Nearly 50,000 candidates sat for the
Korean language last year. The Korean government has increased the
number of job opportunities in Korea for Sri Lankans following the
recent visit of President Rajapaksa to Korea.
The Korean have increased the number of job opportunities which they
provides for Sri Lanka.
"Korean has made Korean language proficiency compulsory for those
seeking employment in Korea. So the ministry has taken measures to
introduce Korean language as a subject for O/L and A/L students," said
the minister.
Further he said that the ministry would also take measures to issue
skills certificates to students when they leave school." |
