Vidyartha beat DSS-32/19

Vidyartha College Kandy beat D.S.Senanayake College by 32 points( two goals, three tries and a penalty ) to 19 points( two goals and a try) at the Singer schools segment one ‘B’ division match played at Air Force Grounds Ratmalana yesterday.

D.S.Senanayake College seemed to be leading in the match with 19 points in the first half. Rashmika Shashi and Nikshan Amendra scored a try each while Amendra's try was converted by Praneeth Lakmal.However, the Vidyartha squad came out with 17 points with the help of tries by Ashan Bandara and L. Ratnadiwakara which Ratnadiwakara's try was converted by Chamath Fernando.The scores read 19 – 17 at lemons.

Vidyartha in the second half grabbed the lead from DSS side with a fine try by Ashan Bandara which helped to lift the score to 21 while it was converted by scrumhalf Chamath Fernando.Number eight Jason Dissanayake also added extra points with an unconverted try.Again Chamath Fernando contributed with a penalty which helped Vidyarthians to go for satisfactory total.The fine tackling by Vidyaratha side didn't allowed their opponents to score throughout the second half.
