Prison officer nabbed for bribery

An officer of Embilipitiya Prison was arrested by the Bribery Commission for allegedly accepting a bribe from a woman yesterday. It is alleged that the officer had requested a bribe of Rs.3,000 from the woman whose husband was in jail.

First, she had given the officer Rs 2,000 as an advance, while he was later arrested while accepting the balance Rs 1,000 from woman.
