Two bodies in gutted house

Two female bodies, partly burnt, were recovered from a gutted house in Warapitiya, Kahawatta, Police said.

Police Media Unit reported that the bodies of the two women, aged over 50, could not be identified due to the burn injuries.

Residents in Warapitiya area identified them as Hethuge Dayawathie (58) and Hethuge Thilakawathie (51), police said.

Kahawatta Police is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
