Speaking to media Managing Director BBDO Lanka Santosh Menon said
that this idea has the potential to revolutionize the scope of
environmental conservation which filters certain harmful content from
the surrounding air, purifies it and releases back to the environment.
He said there is always room for more improvements to make this idea
more effective in combating the scourge of air pollution and invited
engineers, corporate, advertisers and the general public to join hands
with them.
The environment is continuously under attack from various pollutants
released into the atmosphere and the company is determine to provide a
solution that will impact the entire Sri Lankan community. To go green
is expensive but if solar power could be used for this depending on the
availability of space as the next step Colombo city could be greener
than many other cities in the world gaining a major tourist attraction',
he said.
The air cleaning hoarding comprises a mechanical filter and activated
carbon which draws in air from the back of the billboard and filters the
dust and particles and certain gasses that are most harmful to breathe.
The purified air is then released back to the environment. It
purifies 3100 cubical meters hourly according to Menon.
BBDO is willing to give the technology free of charge to any company
interested in implementing it as an environmental initiative. |
