SLN helps salvage Indian fishing trawler

The Sri Lanka Navy came to the assistance of an Indian salvage team in the salvaging of an Indian fishing trawler bearing Registration Number TN/06/MFB/714 in the seas off Delft in Northern Sri Lanka. The assistance was rendered on humanitarian grounds in response to a request made by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka.

The Indian salvage team consisting of four boats and ten crew members and escorted by Indian Coast Guard ship Rajshree was received by Sri Lanka Naval vessel Ranawickrama on April 28. Thereafter, the Indian salvage team was guided to the salvage location for the commencement of the operation under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Navy.
