Filipino swallows cocaine to avoid detection

A Filipino who swallowed cocaine in an attempt to smuggle the drugs through the Bandaranaike International Airport was arrested yesterday morning.

He had arrived aboard a Qatar Airways flight. He was subjected to a check due to his suspicious behaviour when he confessed he had swallowed cocaine.

The cocaine was flushed out of his stomach at the Negombo Hospital. The suspect was detained pending investigations.
