Vesak Week from May 2 to 8

The government has declared May 2 to 8 as Vesak Week.

Abeykoon has issued a special circular to ministries, Provincial
Councils, departments, corporations, statutory boards, District
Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats and other government institutions
in this regard.
Abeykoon has informed heads of all these institutions to display the
Buddhist flag at their institutions and illuminate their buildings
during this period (May 2 to 8). Vesak falls on May 5 and 6.
The motto at this year's Vesak festival is 'Let us follow Buddhist
observances'.
