‘Use Buddhist flag in an appropriate manner’

Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Deputy Minister M K A D S Gunawardana requested that, the Buddhist flag should be used in an appropriate manner.

He requested all individuals who open Dansalas not to use the Buddhist flag to stop vehicles. Further he requested the use of only a yellow flag for stopping vehicles in line with regulations of Motor Traffic Act.

The Deputy Minister requested the public to display a Buddhist flag in every Buddhist home countrywide to mark Vesak. He requested all Buddhist vehicle owners to display a Buddhist flag on their vehicles also in keeping with the regulations of Motor Traffic Act. He further said that, on May 4 to 6, the government has ordered the closure of all liquor outlets to mark Vesak.
