specific risk assessments were completed as a part of the safety
assessment. Having a proper risk assessments in any country will avoid
people from litigations, fatalities, reputation damages , operational
destructions etc, I would say “risks exist, but good safety measures are
put in place in Sri Lanka.” However, more measures have to be put in
place ensuring that all the tourists coming to Sri Lanka are well taken
care of.”
SLAITO President Nilmin Nanayakkara said risk assessment were done
with the intention of creating awareness among industry members
specially in adventure tours and activity based holidays to minimize the
possible risks that the tourists are open to, and SLAITO thus deemed it
relevant to commission this assessments for the betterment of the local
tourism industry.
