Remembering Corporal Eresha Nilmini
The 15th year remembrance and the 38th birthday commemoration of the
first female soldier who made the supreme sacrifice on behalf of the
country, Corporal Eresha Nilmini would be held on May 2, 2012.
Eresha Nilmini who served in the Military Police and the Women's Corp
(Regular Service) was the first female soldier to die in battle during
the 30 year conflict,Sri Lanka Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Ruwan
Wanigasuriya said.
Corporal Nilmini's parents C.De.Z.Edward and Christable Theodora
De.Silva and sisters Neelamani De Silva and Nilanthi De Silva has
organized two services at Sacred Heart Church, Rajagiriya and St.Thomas
Church, Kotte on May 2.
A Mathaka Bana to mark Eresha's 15th year remembrance and her 38th
birthday commemoration will be held at their residence on May 2 evening.
They invite all relatives and friends to participate in these events. |
