Police nab chain snatchers at Peliyagoda

Peliyagoda Police have arrested six suspects on charges of theft during a raid conducted at Dikkowita on April 25.

Six gold chains had been recovered from their possession. The Peliyagoda Crime Investigations Unit yesterday said the suspects had been involved in a series of chain snatching incidents in Kandana, Wattala and Kadawatha areas.

The suspects are residents of Wattala, Kandana and Uswetakeiyawa areas.They were produced before the Negambo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and were remanded until May 09.Peliyagoda Police are investigating.
