* Kelloi Kolloi
A humorous publication in verse on growing up girls and boys.
 * Gynecology and Obstetrics in Elephants
Includes the latest information on physiology, gynecology and obstetrics
Reproduction in wild Mammals Gives a comprehensive description on all
orders of animals with over 150 photos and detailed information on
different species of wild mammals.
* Assassinations and Murders of Sri Lankan Kings
Sri Lanka had 201 kings. Of these 79 kings were murdered and 4 other
kings were banished from the country. This book provides information on
these kings.
Two new publications have been published and made available to
libraries and bookshops in Sri Lanka. These publications have been
authored by Dr A S Abeyratne, a Sri Lankan living in America. His
publication titled ‘Reproduction in Wild Mammals’, provides scientific
information on reproduction in all 19 classes of wild mammals. Each
class is illustrated by general descriptions and details of several
species of mammals. Details of 147 mammals are thus included with their
colour photographs. The book titled ‘Gynecology and Obstetrics in
Elephants’ includes technical and scientific information on
reproduction, elephant breeding including semen collection and
artificial insemination, diagnosis and treatment of infertility,
obstetrical manipulations of she elephants including cesarean section
etc.
Besides these publications on wild animals he has published a book on
agriculture animals, ‘Livestock Industry of Sri Lanka'.
His other publications are - Kelloi Kolloi, Artificial Insemination,
A Brief from the Diary of a Veterinarian. My Life, Assassination and
Murders of Sri Lankan Kings and many other publications. The author, Dr
A S Abeyratne has contributed in many positions in Sri Lanka such as
Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science,
Director Dept. Animal Production and Health, Adviser, Ministry of
Livestock Development and Dept of National Planning, Secretary,
Provincial Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Agrarian Services,
Cooperatives and Livestock Development, Kurunegala etc.
