No motorable road to this village

There is no motorable road to access Alupotha, a remote village situated in the Ambangamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division in the Nuwara Eliya district. To get to the village one is compelled to climb a flight of stone steps from Badupola on the Ginigathena-Avissawella main road with much difficulty.

When a resident of the village suddenly falls ill, the patient 's relatives are compelled to carry him to the main road near Badupola in a make-shift palanquin and from there to the Ginigathena hospital in a vehicle.

The affected villagers say that if a motorable road to access their village is constructed, it will greatly benefit them to travel conveniently. Therefore the authorities concerned should take steps to construct such a motorable road which is a longfelt need for the village of Aluthpotha for the travelling convenience of its residents.
