Elcardo Chairman Athula Rohan Weeraratne in his speech expressed his
intention of opening a branch factory with state-of-the-art machinery in
the Atchuvely Industrial Estate in the near future, providing employment
for the youth in the Jaffna District and help in the economic
development of the Northern Zone.
ISO certified and winner of several awards, Elcardo stepped into the
market arena of Sri Lanka in 1985.
Though they started in a simple way, they have grown rapidly to
become an important contributor to Sri Lanka's economy today.
In the year 1995, Elcardo made studies on many new projects and they
were confident and competent enough to venture into new areas of
business, and they launched the new sphere of importing exclusive
automobile accessories, specially made for 4 wheel drive luxury
vehicles.
Simultaneously, Elcardo did an extensive research on roller doors and
hardly found any organization or person manufacturing them locally to
meet international standards.
The Managing Director of Elcardo, Athula Weeraratne, made a very
important decision at that time to manufacture roller doors in Sri
Lanka, to meet stringent international standards.
According to the decision, Elcardo imported a whole range of
state-of-the-art machinery from technically developed countries and
started manufacturing roller doors in Sri Lanka.
Elcardo Industries were recently presented with an award for 'Best
Creative Products' at the National Development Exhibition.
