BRC bag CSN T20 Championship

BRC emerged champions when they beat Colts Cricket Club by one wicket and four runs in the CSN Premier Clubs T20 Tournament final played at SSC Grounds yesterday. Deciding to bat first, BRC hit 157 runs in 20 overs. A fine half-century(53) including five hits to the ropes and two over it by Andy Solomons along with the 35 runs second wicket partnership between Kusal Janith Perera and Harsha Vithana paved the way for BRC victory. Chathura Peiris (three for 18) and Sajeewa Weerakoon were the most impressive among the Colts bowlers.

In reply, Colts scored 153 for nine in 20 overs with the help of left hander Kusal Janith Perera who contributed with 45 runs including four sixes and a boundary.

Harsha Vithana also supported with 26 runs. Thamara Abeyratne (three for 31) and Nimesh Perera (two for 26) were the main destroyers of the BRC batting line up.

BRC : 157 (Andy Solomons 53, Chathura Peiris 3 for 18, Sajeewa Weerakoon 2 for 31)

Colts : 153 for 9 (Kusal Janith Perera 45, Harsha Vithana 26, Thamara Abeyratne 3 for 31, Nimesh Perera (jnr) 2 for 26)
