Lyceum International School, Wattala becomes overall champions

Lyceum International School, Wattala won the Lyceum Challenge Trophy
for the overall champions for the fifth consecutive year at the
inter-international schools' scrabble championships, recently with 295
points.
Lyceum International School, Nugegoda with 226 points won the Lyceum
Challenge Trophy for the runners-up. Colombo International School (CIS)
- 147 points, Leeds International School (LIS), Panadura - 103 points
and Leighton Park International School - 76 points secured the 3rd, 4th
and 5th positions, respectively.
This event was organized by Lyceum Wattala for the 5th consecutive
year. President of the Sri Lanka Scrabble League (SLSL) Shaila Amalean,
was the chief guest and Treasurer of the SLSL Kandhan Mahendran was the
adjudicator.
Eleven schools, comprising Burhani Serendib School, College of World
Education, CIS, Gateway College, Kandy, Ikra International School, Leeds
International School, Panadura, Leighton Park International School, LIS
- Nugegoda and Wattala, Stafford International School, The Overseas
School of Colombo participated in this tournament. A total of 241
players participated in five age categories (under 11, 13, 15, 17 and
19).
Champion under 11 - Dimithi Perera and Vimuth Mendis of Lyceum
International School, Nugegoda.
Champion under 13 - Thavalakshman Yoganathan of Lyceum International
School, Wattala.
Champion under 15 - Migara Jayasinghe of Lyceum International School,
Wattala.
Champion under 17 - Diyath Pushpitha of Leighton Park International
School.
Champion under 19 - Nishan Perera of Lyceum International School,
Nugegoda. |
