Avurudu fairs islandwide

The Economic Development Ministry will hold Avurudu fairs under the Divi Neguma programme in the main towns of 324 Pradeshiya Sabha Divisions for the Sinhala-Hindu New Year season.

The fairs will be open to the public from April 6 to April 11 from 9 am to 8 pm. These fairs will provide essential items for the festive season, such as, clothes, textiles, fresh vegetables and fruits, sweetmeats, spices and other items at concessionary prices.

The Samurdhi Commissioner General's Department will coordinate the Divi Neguma Avurudu fairs along with the Samurdhi Authority, Agrarian Development Department and the Mahaweli Development Authority under Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa's guidance.
