Applications called for National Christian Literary Festival
The National Christian Literary Festival organised by the
Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Ministry's Christian Religious
Affairs Department will be held on October 5.
Parallel to this festival, it has been decided to present salutation
awards to artistes who have rendered a yeoman service to the Christian
Hymn literacy in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Applications are called from artists who have contributed in the
fields of lyrics, music (melody and play) and singing Christian Hymns.
They should also have the following qualifications.
* Both Catholic and Christian (members of NCC only) laity, clergy
artists can apply
* Creations of living persons will only be entertained. The creations
should be Christian Hymns created before 1980.
* Applicant or an outsider (on behalf of the applicant) can prepare
an application with details.
* Written or any other evidence of the creations should be mentioned
in the application. Applicants should be able to produce them whenever
required.
* If one applicant has performed in more than one field (lyrics,
music or singing), he or she should mention relevant information in a
single application.
* An award will not be presented for any field if the applications
are not at a satisfactory level.
* Persons who received an award once at a Christian Literary Festival
organised by the department should not apply.
* Delayed applicants or applications which will not be able to
provide relevant evidence will be rejected and the judges decision is
final.
Applications should be addressed to the Director, Department of
Christian Religious Affairs, 155/10, Castle Street, Colombo 8 by
registered post or by hand before June 30. |
