Nearly 600 bamboo trees felled in
Bulathsinhala and found floating along Kalu Ganga were
seized by Ingiriya police. Police said the stock of bamboo
are lying at Ingiriya Police as no suspects have been
arrested in this connection. The bamboos were seized
following a tip-off. Ingiriya Police are investigating on

A lorry carrying cattle proceeding to
Dharga town from Thanamalwila was seized by
Matugama Police at Veyangalla in Matugama around 5am Monday.
The Police stopped
the vehicle on a tip - off. The persons in the lorry who
tried to escape in a vehicle were
arrested in Kottehena about 20 kms away from Viyangalla.
There were 14 heads of cattle
in the lorry at the time of the arrest. Six animals had died
in the vehicle. Six suspects
