Hindi schols for Lankans

The Indian government is offering scholarships to Sri Lankan nationals to study Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (Central Institute of Hindi), Agra, for the academic session 2012-2013.

Applicants should have done Hindi as a subject at the GCE A-L or have done Prathamic of Madhyama or 100, 200 courses of KHS, Agra or any university degree in Hindi.

Minimum age of admission is 21 and maximum age limit is 35 as on August 1, 2012.

The selected candidates will be provided return airfare (economy class), stipend, hostel accommodation at nominal charges and an annual book grant. The application form can be obtained from the Indian Cultural Centre, 16/2, Gregory's Road, Colombo 07 (tel 2684698) on weekdays between 9.30am to 1pm from April 2 to 5, 2012. Applicants should come in person to collect the forms.

Duly filled in application forms supported by certificates should be handed over to the Indian Cultural Centre, 16/2, Gregory's Road, Colombo 07 in person by April 26, 2012.

The candidates are required to bring their original certificates and present themselves for a short interview at the time of submitting their applications.
