TNA Sabha member held over illegal logging

Vavuniya Magistrate’s Court enlarged on bail a Pradeshiya Sabha member of the Tamil National Alliance in a case of illicit timber transportation yesterday.

Settikulam Police of Vavuniya produced the suspect, who is a Pradeshiya Sabha member of Settikulam before the Vavuniya Magistrate on the charge. Police said, he was arrested on Monday. The suspect had reportedly fled the vehicle which carried a stock of illegally felled timber when it was stopped by the police. The suspect was enlarged on personal bail of Rs. 100,000
