Three nabbed by Navy

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba of the North-central Naval Command, nabbed three people who were trying to illegally enter the country on board a fishing vessel in the seas off Pesalai on Sunday.

Preliminary investigations revealed that they had boarded a Sri Lankan fishing trawler at mid-sea.Meanwhile, personnel attached to the same Naval Command recovered a haul of conch shells which had been hidden underwater in the Erukkulampiddi lagoon on Saturday. SL Navy sources said they had conducted this raid on information received and recovered 20 bags of conch shells from the lagoon.
