The Sri Lanka Nippon Educational and Cultural Centre will extend its
educational service to the people who are affected by the war in
Northern and Eastern Provinces.
The CPI organization which has been functioning for more than 25
years in Sri Lanka together with the Nippon Educational and Cultural
Centre which has granted 8,000 foster parents Scholarships to talented
students in needy families to upgrade their education will support the
programme.

Ven. Meegahathanne Chandasiri Nayaka Thera and CPI Japan President
Kikukumi Konishi toured war affected areas recently and observed the
prevailing peace in the area. The CPI president from Japan expressed his
willingness to pay more attention to build North-South friendship at a
memorial function held at the Nippon Centre of Pitakotte recently to
mark the first year remembrance of Eastern Japan earth quake, Tsunami
and nuclear leak in power plant.
