‘Drug mafia agents behind strikes’

“All health sector strikes in the country are organized by agents of the drug mafia to prevent the Senaka Bibile National Drug Policy from being presented to Parliament, Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena said.

According to minister Sirisena, the National Drug Policy is now ready to be presented to Parliament next week, after 40 years. "President Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed that the National Drug Policy Bill be presented to Parliament as soon as possible. Accordingly, it will be presented to Parliament next week," he said. "Prof. Senaka Bibile met with a mysterious death by the drug mafia members in September 1977 (at the age of 57) because his Drug Policy aimed at destroying the drug mafia, " the minister said.

"The new drug policy will put a full stop to the drug mafia which creates a lot of economic and health problems for the public. The drug mafia is one of the most powerful mafias in the world, which is directly connected to multinational drug manufacturing companies in the world", Minister Sirisena pointed out. "Since there is no way of preventing the National Drug Policy from being implemented, certain evil forces are now trying to create problems in the health sector by organizing strikes for no reason. Minor staff employees who did not report to work by 12 noon yesterday, March 21 will be considered to have vacated their post. New minor staff employees will be recruited from today to replace them", Minister Sirisena added.
