President visits Parliament

President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited Parliament and attended sessions
for a while yesterday. According to the provisions of the 18th amendment
to the constitution, the President should attend Parliament at least
once in three months.
Accordingly, President Rajapaksa arrived in the chamber around 2.35
pm and took his seat next to the Leader of the House in the front row on
the government side.
At the time the President arrived in the Chamber, the debate on
regulations under the National Aquaculture Development Authority of Sri
Lanka Act was in progress and UNP Puttalam district MP Palitha Range
Bandara was addressing the House.
