Bartleet Finance PLC launches ‘Bilindu’

Bartleet Finance PLC, a member of the Bartleet Group, one of the foremost conglomerates in Sri Lanka, launched their ‘Bilindu’ Children’s Savings Account, designed to give every child born in Sri Lanka a bank account with a cash deposit, at the Castle Street Hospital For Women under the patronage of Chairman Dharma Dheerasinghe, famous story writer and child entertainer Sibil Wettasinghe and Board of Directors of Bartleet Finance PLC.

The Bartleet ‘Bilindu’ Children’s Savings account was launched under the theme ‘Born rich’ as Bartleet Finance gifts the child as he or she is born.

Other than the Bartleet ‘Bilindu’ Savings Account that can be opened from the birth up to five years of age, the Bartleet Finance PLC has introduced the Bartleet ‘Bindu’ Savings Account for children aged 5 to 12 years the Bartleet Smart Teen Account for youth aged between the years 12 to 18.

This recently launched savings account is designed to offer many benefits to Sri Lankan children. At the opening of the ‘Bilindu’ Savings Account, a deposit of Rs 500 is made to the account by the company. A very competitive rate of interest is offered to the account and various presents and cash prizes will be offered according to the various age groups. Especially, this is the only savings account offering cash prizes to the children passing the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations.

Speaking about the ‘Bilindu’ Savings Account launched to the Sri Lankan consumers , the Executive Director of the Bartleet Finance PLC Mr S Raghavan said, “For over 100 years, the Bartleet Group has been dedicated to uplifting of the economy and the living conditions of the people of this country. Other than that, we have been pioneers in introducing new business ventures to Sri Lankan market. Bartleet Finance PLC, as following in the footsteps in the parent company, takes special interest in introducing new financial services to the country. As we are in the process of establishing our branches in all parts of the country as a part of our branch expansion programme, our aim is providing opportunities for the general public to interact financially with us.

Speaking about the launch of these new children’s savings schemes, Bartleet Finance PLC Senior Manager Manjushri Thotapitiya said, “We launched these savings accounts for children with the intention of financially rewarding and empowering them from their birth. Bearing this in mind, we have planned to offer more benefits to these accounts. The process of opening a ‘Bilindu’ Children’s Savings Account and to receive a cash deposit of Rs.500/= is very simple.
