Air Force cycling tour from March 15 to 17

The annual "Air Force Cycling Tour" will be held for the 13th
consecutive year, with the celebration of 61st Anniversary of the Sri
Lanka Air Force.
The main objective of this event is to promote cycling in Sri Lanka.
The event is organized under the supervision of Cycling Federation of
Sri Lanka. Over one hundred competitors to be participated in the three
-day race.
It's a three-day race which will cover a distance of 438Km in three
days. The race will start on 15 March 2012 from Colombo to end at
Palaviya which includes a distance of 147 KM. In the second day, the
tour will start from Puttalam and finish at Dambulla (149Km). The race
will start at Dambulla and finish at SLAF Head Quarters at Colombo(142
Km) on the final day.
And there is another segment for women commences on 17 March 2012 at
Meerigama, which will cover a distance of 42 Km from Meerigama to
Colombo. The main sponsor of the event is Sharp and Abans (Pvt) Ltd.
Rupavahini and Hiru FM will be the official media partners to the event.
The winners will be awarded prizes ranging from Rs. One Million. The
award ceremony will be held on 17 March 2012 at 6.00Pm at Rifle Green
Grounds at SLAF Colombo. Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha
Abeywickrama and other distinguished guests will grace the award
presentation. |
