Two foreign teams at Zahira Rugby Sevens

The Colombo Zahira College, Old Boys group of 60s’ will conduct the
under 20 Zahira Rugby Seven Tournament from 8.00 am onwards at the
Zahira College grounds on March 18.

Altogether 12 local schools and two foreign teams will vie for
honours in the tournament. Zahira Rugby Sevens will be added to the
school rugby annals as the first ever school sevens tournament to
include foreign teams in Sri Lanka. Local school ruggerites of Ananda
College - Colombo, Dharmaraja College - Kandy , Isipathana College -
Colombo, Kingswood College - Kandy, Nalanda College - Colombo, Prince of
Wales College - Moratuwa, Science College - Colombo, St. Peter's Cologe
- Bambalapitiya, Thurstan College - Colombo, Trinity College - Kandy,
Vidyartha college - Kandy and Zahira College will line up with Tunku
Jaffar Secondary School and Kuchin Rugby Football Club Combined Schools
Team from Malaysia.
The inetial round will be worked off in four groups, namely A,B,C and
D. Allied Trading International Pvt Ltd has stepped forward to support
this years tournament as the main sponsor.
Trophies,certificates and cash prizes will be awarded for the winners
and runner-ups in the Cup, Plate and Bowl Championship.Winning teams in
each category will also receive medals.
