Fine knock by Somatillake

A fine knock of 93 with 16 fours and two sixes off 128 balls by allrounder Tharaka Somatillake helped Kegalu Vidyalaya to score 282 for 8 declared on the first day of their inter-school cricket match against S de S Jayasinghe College, Dehiwala which began at the Kegalle esplanade yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.30 am.

Tharaka Somatillake batted attractively against their strong opponents attack. He put on 80 runs for the fourth wicket with Shan Chaturanga who made 39.

At close S de S Jayasinghe College though going for quick runs are not too happily placed at 119 for 4 and they will have to make a further 63 with six wickets in hand to avoid the follow on.
