'Divi Neguma, a resounding success'

'The Divi Neguma house to house survey is continuing very successfully throughout the country', the Economic Development Ministry Additional Secretary R R A K Ranawaka said.

"People are keen to obtain the services of the Economic Development Ministry under the Divi Neguma Programme to grow and plan their home gardens", he said. Officers are compiling data of the public to provide seeds, plants, chicks, calves, fisheries equipment and other assistance to develop home gardens and livelihood under the Divi Neguma programme, he said.

"A parcel with 10 varieties of seeds will be provided to each house holder who has a home garden", he said. A group consisting of four officers cover around 10-15 house units to collect details each day", he said. The Economic Development Ministry has drawn up plans to complete the survey by March 31, he said.
